When I first started planning my dissertation, I thought the hardest part would be the writing. Surprisingly, I found that choosing from the many available was even more difficult. There were so many interesting areas to explore, from student engagement and online learning to university leadership and academic performance.
After spending time reading recent studies, I realized that the best topic wasn't necessarily the most complex one. It was the one that was sincerely interested me and had enough research available to support my ideas. Once I settled on a topic I was excited about, the whole dissertation process felt much more manageable. Looking back, taking extra time to choose the right direction saved me a lot of stress later on.
