My 2016 Tahoe has developed this annoying clunking sound from the front end whenever I go over speed bumps or even just uneven road surfaces, which in Sharjah and Dubai means pretty much constantly. It's not a subtle noise either, passengers have started asking what that sound is which is always a sign it's gotten bad enough that everyone can hear it. The ride quality has also deteriorated, feels floaty on the highway and the nose dips noticeably under braking. I'm assuming shocks and possibly some bushings are due for replacement given the mileage is around 140k now, but I'd rather have a proper inspection done before I start ordering parts. Looking for a solid that knows these full size SUVs, they have a pretty specific suspension setup with the magnetic ride control if I'm not mistaken and not every garage understands how to diagnose those systems properly. A friend mentioned Dynostar does a lot of American cars and has the diagnostic tools to check the electronic suspension components, not just the mechanical bits. Anyone here with a Tahoe or Suburban of similar vintage had suspension work done recently and can share what the typical wear items are at this mileage, like is it usually just shocks or do the control arms and sway bar links tend to go around the same time? Trying to budget for this realistically without getting surprised by a bunch of while we're in there discoveries.
